Message from Rev. Murray Pruden, Indigenous Ministries & Justice, United Church of Canada

We are shocked, saddened, sickened by the news of the discovery of the remains of over 200 children buried on the grounds of the former Residential School in Kamloops.  Please read the letter from Rev. Murray Pruden, National Executive Minister, Indigenous Ministries & Justice – United Church of Canada.  It includes a prayer because as Rev. Pruden states, “…prayer is needed at this time”.    

Let us take our strong and painful emotions to God and ask that they be transformed into a powerful motivating force for good in the world, for an unwavering determination to journey, with care and respect, the road of reconciliation toward the goal of right and just relations between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Peoples.
